My name is Frank Guzman and am a lifelong resident of Pomona. I am please to say that I am a successful product of the Pomona Unified School District and I am a candidate for Governing Board Member. As a child, I attended a couple of elementary schools in the district, Fremont Middle School and completed my high school years at Garey High School.  During high school, I was actively involved in Student Government, School Site Council, the Curriculum Team, and various clubs. 

Following my years as a student, I became a Student Leadership Consultant to the district.  For the last 9 years, I have had a great opportunity to work directly with high school students planning district-wide events. These events bring students from the various high schools together in an effort to promote unity.  I also work full-time as General Manager at a local Pomona Business.

In addition to both attending and working with the district, I am also an active parent.  From classroom volunteer to PTO President, I am always looking for ways to support the educational system that both of my children are a part of.  Currently, my 10 year old son Frankie and my 9 year old daughter Arianna attend Golden Springs Elementary School.  I have worked diligently with each of their teachers to ensure their success. 

From a student to a district consultant, businessman to active parent, I am committed to Pomona, Diamond Bar and the Pomona Unified School District.  I am committed to my children and the children of the district.  I am committed as a parent and will strive to promote parental involvement.  I value my role and the role of each and every district employee.  These roles have prepared me for my role as a Board Member.

It is time for the district to move forward in a positive direction.  We need to listen and respect every person.  It is time for every facet of the district to come together for a common purpose, student success.
